In line with the Consulate’s mission to reinforce international partnerships, Dr. Ó Murchú held productive meetings with officials from Ireland’s Department of Foreign Affairs and representatives of the Ivorian Embassy in London. Discussions focused on deepening diplomatic and cultural collaboration, as well as exploring new avenues for trade and sustainable development. Both sides emphasized the importance of close cooperation to ensure positive outcomes for future joint ventures in education, business, and environmental initiatives.

News Item 4: Preparing for the Autumn 2025 Economic Mission to Abidjan and Ivorian Business ventures and visits to Ireland 2025
Plans are underway for an economic mission to Abidjan 2025, spearheaded by Dr. Ó Murchú and the Consulate. Key sectors identified include 'Green' housing, waste-to-energy, data centre design and construction, seaweed extraction, and other green infrastructure. This mission aims to introduce Irish expertise to Ivorian markets, foster new business relationships, and create sustainable investment opportunities for both countries. Dr. Ó Murchú encourages businesses and investors to stay tuned for updates on this significant undertaking that promises mutual benefits and lasting partnerships. Son Excellence Madame a présenté, le Mercredi 26 Octobre 2022, ses Lettres de créance à Son Excellence Monsieur Michael D. Higgins, Président de l’Irlande. A l’issue de la cérémonie officielle de présentation des Lettres de créance qui s’est déroulée au Palais Áras an Uachtaráin, la résidence officielle du Chef de l’Etat irlandais, la diplomate Ivoirienne a eu un entretien avec le Président Irlandais, son Excellence Michael D. Higgins, au cours duquel les deux parties ont exprimé leur satisfaction quant aux excellentes relations d’amitié et de coopération qui existent entre l’Irlande et la Côte d’Ivoire.

The Africa Ireland economic forum took place in Dublin recently and it was my pleasure as Honorary Consul to represent Côte d'Ivoire, accompanied by several members of the Consulate.
Moreover the visit of delegates from the Ivorian Embassy in London greatly enhanced our presence, and showcased the excellent economic opportunities available to Irish and international investors and business interests in 
Côte d'Ivoire .

Irish Delegation personally Invited to visit Côte d'Ivoire in 2023 - Are You Ready?

 Having communicated throughout the Pandemic with the various Ministers and ministries in Côte d'Ivoire, we are now preparing a delegation of Irish interests and investors to visit Abidjan in 2023, to engage with the vision of the President, HE. Alassane Dramane Ouattara as outlined in the Ivorian National Development Plan.  Our personal invitation, through SEM. SEMme AMANI Sara, Ambassadeur Extraordinaire et Plénipotentiaire and Dr. Ó Murchú, HC to Ireland, to present the Irish delegation to the government and partners/stakeholders, is very much appreciated and anticipated. Areas such as Smart-Agriculture,  Agri-Tech, Sustainability, Energy,  Infrastructure, housing, machinery, dairy products, commodities, Bio-Pharma and Pharma, e-digitization, finance and so much more are now open for companies to contact us directly for consideration. The future expansion of Irish and global companies must acknowledge the central importance of West Africa with over 400, 000, 000 inhabitants and a market place ready, willing and able to meaningfully engage with them.

Visit to Abidjan 2021

The most recent visit in October 2021, by the vice-consul, Mr. Youssouf Bamba Gba  and consulate members Mr. Zakariaho Kanoute  to Abidjan, afforded us the opportunity to officially meet and speak with Mr. Anouar Sifaoui, President and members of the newly formed Shamrock-Ivoire Chamber. The Ivorian Consulate in Ireland looks forward to strengthening ties with our Ivorian/Irish Chamber in Abidjan and the Chamber of Commerce of the Ivory Coast of Ireland looks forward also to developing and nurturing this liaison on several levels with B2B, cultural, social, educational and other engagements. 
In 2022, the Consul, HE. Dr. Daithí Ó Murchú will officially inaugurate the Shamrock-Ivoire Chamber when in Abidjan and officially announce the Bilateral and Multi-lateral Economic forum, which will take place in Dublin, September 2022.

                                                         Le scrutin s’est très bien déroulé en ligne et en présentielle. Pour rappel le scrutin a opposé Mr Fred Assi à Mr Paul Lambert Yao Mougo.

Suffrages exprimés :  76.86% de participation
Vote blanc :0
Le candidat Paul Lambert Yao Mouguo est élu Président de la diaspora ivoirienne en Irlande avec 73.12% des voix.

Ambassador of Côte d’Ivoire Her Excellency Mrs Sara Amani recalls the “momentous day” she was appointed Ambassador to the UK. “This is a high-profile diplomatic post, which is now occupied by a woman for the first time. I would like to express my gratitude to the highest Ivorian authorities who have invested their confidence in me.” She hopes her diplomatic activities will offer her “opportunities to discover the different regions of the UK and the great outdoors.
